the Artisan Rogue

Well so I wrongly said this episode was part of Season 3, and I had totally messed that up. This is the beginning of Season 4, but themeatically I guess this could still be part of season 3. This is why I don't do seasons aside from Autumn. 

I discovered the new up and coming social media site Parler, and for some odd reason decided to cover it in this particular episode.

“Les is More”

We gotta keep it six feet,
no less than,
Laying down yellow walls
like Les Nessman.
Don’t see the force field
you got in your face?
Pull up before you crash
into that social race.
The desire to be free,
to do as you freely desire.
To choke out the curve,
and try to quench the fire.
Of the invisible enemy,
that could be living in you.
So hardcore, it’s path
in life burning the avenue,
Intertwine, transfer, and then
move on to propagate,
On the surface of the skin
of those it will subjugate.
It’s got allies we grown inside,
greed, fear, and hate
Leading the charge for
people to degenerate
Into hoarders, and frightened
ones that will acerbate
the shortages, and keep
the rumor mill grinding
Down the goodwill of society
until there’s no finding
A speck of hope, amongst
the virus fallen count
How do you stand and fight
when you can’t even mount
A defense against denial,
lies form a spear wall
Moving forward against us
until we get sick and fall
For the platitudes and
outright misinformation
That leaves the lips
of the leaders of this nation
In false honesty, upon
the masses open ears
That perk up, as
the hidden money appears
That is gifted to corporations,
but Indian given to the rest
It’s all a mirage, truth,
as rare as a Covid19 test.

Written on the first day of this month's Nanowrimo, the first inklings came out, and within minutes, I had completed the first rough of it. Part of the therapy I've gone through has helped me refocus my mental narrative to write, illustrate, and create around and within the confines of frustrations I have.

Opening up on some personal stuff with doing therapy/counseling for myself. I hope that this may help some of you out there if you've thought about it, or are in need of it. I go into why I did, some of the catalysts early on in my younger days, and some of them currently. Like I say in the podcast, if you just need an ear or help of any kind, please reach out. I've included my email below. I can be a virtual ear, and if need be whatever other help that could be needed. I'm no medical professional, but I do care.

I didn't do a show this weekend, but I sure as heck saw, heard, and interacted with one, over 1,600 miles from me. SDCC has long been this wild far off fantasy land like convention in my head. Many colleagues and friends have traveled to it and told me of many adventures there. This year, I followed a lot more people online that chronicled their time at the show online through every conceivable social media outlet. The really bizarre part, was for the first time, I felt a bit of severe burnout. And then today, post con blues. For a show I'd not even physically attended! That was a first for me!

You ever just look at any social media, and see someone, somewhere, somehow saying "My Childhood is Ruined!" I talk about that insane comment, and go more into why some people feel the urge to say it, in this new episode of Radio74.

Even if you've never heard about the term Analysis Paralysis, chances are, you've had to deal with it. I do a quick under ten minute take on my own efforts in dealing with it.

I have been in a creative downward spiral for a few days, and nothing else can really create that rollercoaster ride quite like interacting with social media.

So this started off innocently enough on my just talking blandly enough about enjoying going to the museum and somewhere along the way I ramble completely the hell off of any sensible aspect of a podcast outline. This is what happens when I have an hour to use on recording.

Are you attending a show where there are vendors, artists in artist alley, or media stars? Feeling shy and unable to get up the nerve to talk to them for fear of offending them or maybe not being into the artwork? I'm here to wax on, and go off on getting over the anxiety of talking to people on the other side of the table.
